New Years Eve 2009

Seasons Greetings to you all! Now, as we all know, New Years Eve can be a huge and epic fail to the unplanned; deciding at 9pm to head into London, rocking up to any venue, anywhere, and spending the last few seconds of the "00s" in a queue to some extortionate bar that's pumping out terrible music, facing a bouncer with a more-than-passing resemblence to Humpty Dumpty with a goatee. That does not sound like fun. So how about we give you a quick low-down on options for December 31st 2009? After all, you don't want to end the decade on a bad note, do you?

Ha Ha Bar, Guildford
For those of you in a party mood, Ha Ha Bar and Grill has got to be on your shortlist! Upstairs, there'll be a Black and White themed Ball, with a fantastic 3 course Menu for £29.95, and when you book a table, it's yours for the whole night! And downstairs? 'Hey Gorgeous Dj's', playing commercial dance and house music. It's open til 3am with Free Entry and great drinks offers, but as you know, it's more than likely to be rammed, so book your table for the Black and White ball now!

The Stag on the River, Lower Eashing
For those who fancy more of a countryside experience, The Stag on the River is for you. For £10, you get pub games, a buffet, and a classic night of countryside shananigans! This is a large and lively pub, so expect a roaring and friendly atmosphere to see away the noughties! Once again, you'll need to book a ticket to guarantee your presence there. So get your gameface on people, and head on down to The Stag on the River!

Yates's, Woking
Ah, now this is for those of who fancy a bit more of a blow-out; A Circus Extravaganza at Yates's Woking! If you're wearing fancy dress (we recommend sticking with the circus theme!) and you're one of the first 100 entrants, blag yourself a free glass of bubbly! Which is brilliant, considering entry's free too... This one's open 'til late as well folks, so get ready to dance the night away!

The Keep, Guildford
In the busy area of Guildford's Castle Street, The Keep is going to have many a visitor, so book your table in advance... if you do, with more than 4 of you, there's a saving to be had on champagne! This will be more of an easy-going affair, so if slowly quaffing a beverage while listening to their in-house human jukebox (we're as intrigued as you are...) is your thing, then The Keep is the place to head!

Boileroom, Guildford
Keeping the suspense up for as long as possible, Guildford's Boileroom is hosting Tales of the Unexpected. Taking its theme straight from the TV series based on Roald Dahl’s strange and macabre short stories, narrated by the great author from his fireside (Youtube it; seem familiar?), this will be a surreal and hugely original evening. Our good friends at Boileroom pride themselves on top drawer live music, so keep checking up here to find out more, and of course to book your ticket!

Shepherd and Flock, Farnham
Fancy Dress; it's always a nerve-wracking moment when you first walk in to a place dressed in a, shall we say, "a-typical" fashion, isn't it? Well, if you're heading to The Shepherd and Flock in Farnham, you should fit right in, providing you're dressed as a 007 character! Yes, on Thursday December 31st, come as James Bond, Q, M, Moneypenny or how about a villain like Dr No, Blofeld, or hey, even Blofeld's cat. There's a special prize for the best costume, so it's worth making the effort! Tickets are now on sale at just £15, a bargain when you consider that includes a buffet, music and games! As with all these events, tickets won't stretch far, so book now to avoid disappointment!

The Star Inn, Woking
Live music? Cheap drinks? Sounds like a plan, no? So head down to The Star Inn in Woking! There'll be a DJ playing for the whole evening, drinks promotions available all night (£2.50 pint of Fosters / £1.50 on selected shots / £4 double vodka bull) from 7pm onwards... and free entry! So get down there good and early, ensure your comfortable, and party like it's the end of 2009!

The Plough at Cobham
The Plough at Cobham has something of a reputation as a brilliantly run and well hosted venue; NYE 2009 will be no exception! There'll be live music from The DC Band, who'll be playing a wide range of music, and free entrance, free buffet... could they spoil us any more?! It's worth mentioning that the food at The Plough is truly top notch, so this is likely to be some of the best free food you've ever tasted! Hospitality and good times are engrained in the hosts ethos so the night promises to be a wild entry into 2010!

Bellini Ristorante, St Johns
Those good people down at Bellini Ristorante have a real treat in store; An evening of music, food and fireworks! Kicking off at 8pm, this will be a great night of fine food accompanied by a selection of jovial live music, and a fantastic display of fireworks at midnight! This one must be booked in advance, so click here to get their details, or call them directly on 01483 757222!

A Formal Evening at Holiday Inn, Woking

Fancy a classy New Years Eve Dinner Dance? For those seeking a more formal occasion, we recommend Woking's Holiday Inn.

Now just £49 for the evening (reduced from £55), this will be the event for those of you who fancy donning your smart wears. If you're willing to splash just £35 more, at £84.50 you can stay overnight and get breakfast too! Racking your brains for a business event? This could be the place as well!
