Our top pick of a glorious bunch of Switch-Ons this week is happening in Guildford. Ooh and ahh and ho ho ho when the Christmas lights are switched on over the cobbled High Street of Guildford. The fun starts at 4.30pm with a whole sleigh-full of traditional Christmas activities and events. Psst. We’ve even heard that Father Christmas will be leading the street parade with a group of Newfoundland dogs! Obviously Rudolph is busy having his hooves seen to elsewhere. But who needs a reindeer when you can enjoy the company of Gethin Jones, star of the Yvonne Arnaud theatre pantomime. Watch the great and the good on the Guidhall balcony turn on the lights at 7pm. Grab some candyfloss and a bag of roasted chestnuts and watch the fireworks celebrate the start of Christmas in style.
