Things to do in Surrey When You're Bored...

... or just general ideas for you to spend your free time! This week we have the usual variety of the great, good and gastronomical in this wonderful county! Monday - Two Fingers Of Firewater @ Boileroom

Let's hand it over to Boileroom to explain about up-and-coming band Two Fingers of Firewater: "Described by BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris as 'chaotic - but wonderful', Surrey-based band Two Fingers Of Firewater have blazed a trail across the UK for eighteen months with their tuneful rock sounds and meaningful lyrics. Reminiscent of classic-era Grateful Dead for their musicality, they use a range of melody instruments to augment their guitar, bass, drums line-up."

Tuesday - Champions League Night Discounts at Pews!

Those of you not into football can look away now! Right, now we've got rid of all the naysayers, there should be only one place to enjoy this evening's Champions League matches: Pews Wine Bar and Restaurant.

Why? Because for just £6 you can get either a 7inch pizza or plain/chilli nachos and a pint of Amstel! Bargain! Tonight's line-up is Stuttgart vs Barcelona, k.o. at 7.45pm, but you can also come in on Wednesday to see Inter vs Chelsea; the deal applies both days! Wednesday - High School Musical 2 at The New Victoria Theatre, Woking

It strikes fear into the heart of all parents of pre-teen girls, but why not treat the little blighters to some gleeful sing-along for their sporadic good behaviour? Woking's New Victoria Theatre, one of the largest in the UK outside of London, can help win back the fickle hearts and minds of the wee ones this Wednesday with High School Musical 2!

High School Musical 2 Live on Stage features all the much-loved characters and hit songs from the smash-hit movie including 'What Time Is It', 'You Are The Music In Me' and 'Fabulous', as well as dancing and an amazing live band. Buy your tickets, sit back and start totting up your brownie points! The show starts at 7pm; just be sure to wear your sunglasses when looking at the stage (the dazzling all-American smiles will hurt your eyes).

Thursday - Halong Bay, West Byfleet

Absolutely exquisite Oriental food. West Byfleet's Halong Bay has something of an unique selling point, being one of the only authentic Vietnamese Restaurants in Surrey! If you're really in the mood to try something new and give your palette a real treat, this is the place to head. Or, if you are in the know about Vietnamese food, they will try and accommodate you with you're favourite dish; how many restaurants can boast that?

All dishes are made with the finest authentic produce, made fresh to order, and as well as all of this the surroundings are wonderful, with reminders throughout of the magical area that is Halong Bay. So you best check out their menus here and here before you book your table, hadn't you?!

Friday - Salvatore, West Byfleet

Delicious, amazing Mediterranean cuisine is alive and well in West Byfleet! Look no further than Salvatore for proof. With a massive array of tapas, paella and various Greek and Italian dishes, there's really not a lot missing on the menu!

Saturday - Live Music at The Anchor & Horseshoes, Burpham

An awesome pub boasting excellent food, a good wine list, 4 real ales and live music this Saturday! Head down to The Anchor and Horseshoes to experience New Dogs Old Tricks, one of the best cover bands you're likely to see! I mean, they've toured Germany and South Africa so they're worth your attention!

Satuday isn't the only day you should check out The Anchor and Horseshoes, however; we also recommend Monday nights, when you can get a pint of Fosters or John Smith's for just £1.60! But whether you are popping in for a coffee, a pint, lunch, dinner, a quick game on one of the various games machines or a Sunday roast, the staff at the pub will always offer you a warm and friendly welcome.

Sunday - Amazing Sunday Lunches at The Villagers, Guildford

Mere minutes away from Guildford town lies Blackheath's finest pub/restaurant, The Villagers. Moreover, The Villagers nestles itself amongst the beautiful Surrey Hills so if you're taking a walk or even riding your horse, this is the ideal venue to stop at to rejuvenate yourself!

We can always recommend the food here, but Sunday's see the most spectacular cuisine; £10.25 will get you a beef, lamb shank or pheasant with all the trimmings, and you can even get venison haunches!
