Week Starting 26 April 2010
Another Week, Another Opportunity to Enjoy the Local Wonders
Yes folks it's your weekly update on all things Surrey-and-North-East-Hampshire-y! As per usual we've got something to suit any palette, so at least one of these days should have a little summin'-summin' to entice you, as well as a few tasty treats for your trusty The Good Time Guide Offer Card (we shall abbreviate it to TGTG occasionally for sake of ease).
So read on, dear subscriber, from those who are officially sponsoring Guilfest 2010 (see right...)

Monday - John Gordillo at Native Tongue, Epsom |
The Good Time Guide will always champion venues like Native Tongue - small but perfectly formed, there's always a night out to be had here! Live bands Wednesday to Saturday, Student Night on Tuesdays, Sunday Jam Club - all needs are catered for, but in this 'ere Monday slot is here to tell you all about tonight's comedy.
Every Monday sees £5 A Seat Edinburgh Comedy, or to the layman, a comedian who will be performing at that most famous festival later in the year for less than a quarter of the price! Tonight (Monday 26th April) is the turn of John Gordillo, a man who has worked very closely with none other than a certain Edward Izzard to name but one - that in itself is reason enough for us! Wanna go? Click here or call 01372 720450.

Tuesday - The Rose Valley - 2 for 1 on Main Meals at Lunch! |
Those of you residing in and around Guildford will probably know The Rose Valley - with seating for 150 people, most of you have probably dined there! Wonderful Indo-Bangladeshi food, to eat in or take away, and a Sunday buffet make The Rose Valley an excellent choice.
However, we recommend visiting between Monday and Thursday, 12 until 2.30pm. Why exactly? Because it's 2 for 1 on main meals with your TGTG Offer Card of course! And it's eat-in or takeaway (not delivery), so if you like you can enjoy it in the comfortable surroundings of your own home - perhaps while performing a comic-book villain laugh while staring at your receipt? No? Just an idea... click here to find out more about The Rose Valley, or call 01483 572572.

Thursday - Jam Night at The Horns, Crondall |
Thursday nights from 8.30pm are music nights at The Horns with acoustic sets from a range of talented local performers. The genres cover folk, rock and blues and give an opportunity for musos to enjoy listening to local talent in a relaxed friendly atmosphere with a couple of drinks.
It goes thus: generally, an experienced host musician plays a set, then introduces other performers to do a couple of numbers on an open mic format before wrapping things up. Simple really. Relaxing live music in preparation for the weekend! If you're interested in performing, call 01252 850560 and ask for John or Phil.
Finally, with your esteemed TGTG Offer Card, you can get 10% off food, all the time, until the end of May! We suggest calling the number above and mention us when booking; The Horns get pretty busy!

Tip of The Week
JOIN US ON FACEBOOK FOR THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN A SET OF GUILFEST TICKETS!
Oh yes people, you read right, that humble orange email you receive in your inbox every week is, in fact, part of a mighty force of nature (not really nature, but it's a great turn of phrase)... The Good Time Guide is the official sponsor of the second stage at Guilfest 2010! A-ma-zing.
So, as a mini celebration, we're putting on a cheeky hypothetical: IF we can get 500 or more fans on our Facebook Fan Page by FRIDAY 7th MAY, we'll give away a pair of tickets to a random fan on said page!
The Good Time Guide will be holding competitions in the very near future, but this will be by far the best chance you'll have to win them; assuming we get the minimum 500 fans required, you'll still have a far, FAR better chance of winning than pretty much any other competition out there!
So get out, spread the word, and let's hit 500 fans; send this email to a friend using that handy link below, email, call, text, yell from rooftops, use smoke signals... whatever it takes! Remember, we MUST have 500 fans in total by Friday May 7th!!
