Want to win one of four pairs of Guilfest tickets? Shimmy your eyes over to the orange box on the right to find out how, or click here - veeeeeeeery good chance of winning if you put a little work in!

But for now, there's much fun to be had this week - let's kick off July in style!

Monday - Celebrate the Theatre at... The Electric Theatre!
As part the long-running Guildford Summer Festival, those good people at The Electric Theatre are hosting a week celebrating all that's great and good about this wonderful art. And there's a lot going on...

The week started yesterday (27th), but today is where it really kicks off, with FIVE different performances - four of which are completely free to watch! There's simply too much to list here, so click here to see the whole line-up - if you can't make anything today, we highly recommend you make a window in your diary by Saturday 3rd July. Come along and celebrate the theatre!

Tuesday - Dick Carter's Harvey Painters at Harvey Gallery
TGTG loves a bit of art, but we can't claim to be experts, so let those wonderful people at Harvey Gallery explain what this is all about:

"Put that household paintbrush down and get Carter! Guildford's very own Dick Carter takes over the cool, creative art space at Guildford's Harvey Gallery with his talented ensemble of Harvey Painters. The red brick Victorian school house which cossets this Royal Academy standard gallery is an intriguing setting for Guildford's artists whose creativity has been nurtured by their tutor Dick Carter.

From warm oils portraiture to cool idyllic pen and watercolour, existing students and alumni from Carter's classes will make your eyes want to reach out and examine the textures and brushworks. Take some time out and be inspired."

A wonderful place showcasing a great exhibition! More info? Here's where you want to be!

Wednesday - Al Vicolo, Guildford
Cooked to order, real as you like Italian food? All in authentic surroundings? Look no further, dear reader - Al Vicolo is where you want to take yourself to.

For all the flashiness of some venues, it doesn't feel 'real' sometimes - it can't be just us, can it? Go to any real Italian restaurant, and you get that atmosphere, all intimacy and lingering meals - that's what it's all about!

So light bites, pasta, Italian salads and Sardinian specialities are all on here, so if it's something with a more European, home-made vibe, Al Vicolo is unquestionably the place to come. Call 01483 506306 to book a table now!

Thursday - The Crown and Cushion, Haslemere
A pub in idyllic Haslemere, a short hop from the train station, boasting live music and televised sports? The Crown and Cushion, people, is the place you want to go!

More over, as if this place weren't versatile enough, they also lay claim to some talented chefs, who can offer a fine selection of home-cooked, freshly prepared food. The ever-changing menu will feature a wide variety of culinary delights so it's well worth visiting regularly to see what's new!

Want to find out what's on the menu, find out who's playing or have any other questions for the team? Punch 01428 653363 into your phone!

Friday - Reasons to Visit Tickled Ivory, Guildford:
What's not to like about Tickled Ivory? It's a Piano Bar for Goodness sake! But, in case you're not convinced, here's a few reasons to visit...

1. 527 Club - Named so for it is a club that occurs between the hours of 5 and 7pm. Become a member of Tickled Ivory (free of charge), and between these hours on a Monday to Friday its just £8 for a 12inch stone-baked pizza and a drink (select wine or lager). Also selected drinks are 2 for 1 in this extended happy hour!

2. Pizza and Piano - As above, but on a Wednesday the offer runs right through til 10pm as there'll be a live pianist and singer. Booking a table is recommended.

3. The Sunday Sessions - Live music from 9pm and free entry on a Sunday.

For tonight (Friday 2nd July) though, it's the turn of the Jason Stanley duo - want to make a reservation, find out what else is on (tip: they are showing football) and other such interesting things? Click here!

Saturday - Farnborough Fake Festival 2010!
Ever wanted to see some of the biggest names in music, but you don't have the Tiger-Woods-soon-to-be-ex-wife's newly acquired fortune? How does Kings of Leon, U2 and Guns 'n' Roses (pre-Axl Rose meglomaniac tendencies) sound? Welcome to the wonderful world of the Fake Festival! This Saturday prepare to be rocked by Kings of Lyon, New 2 and Guns 2 Roses - and judging by the current debarcle of GnR, the latter will probably be infinitely better than the real thing!

Farnborough may be a little distance for those of you living on the Guildford side of Surrey, but come on - this'll be worth it at a mere £20 a ticket (£25 on the door)! It'll take place at Farnborough Rugby Club under a big old marquee with a licensed bar and fenced food and entertainment garden area. You can even bring the kids! All the info you'll ever need, including some tracks by the fakey bands themselves, is right here!

Sunday - Surrey Produce Festival 2010
A partnership between the National Trust, Surrey Gourmet Catering and local producers for all you to enjoy - and it's totally FREE! Taking place on Sunday 4th July, this is everything The Good Time Guide love - local, universal and foody!

What's more, this fantastic event will take place on top of Box Hill, near Dorking, so cross your fingers for good weather - it's stunning up there! A slice of gourmet food atop a National Trust site - surely you'd be foolish to miss it! So click here to find out more, or alternatively call 01306 888811.
