Focus Of The Week - The Guildford Summer Festival!
Monopolising The Good Time Guide's sole attention for a whole week, The Guildford Summer Festival must be good - and it is! Running from June 19th to August 1st, Guildford Summer Festival is a non-profit enterprise established by Guildford Borough Council in 1983. With the festival aimed at publicising as many local events taking place as possible, whether your interest is sport, music, drama or art there is sure to be something for you - and plenty more besides! Our selection for the week covers it all - from The Legion Live Lounge Sessions on Monday and GuilFest news on Tuesday. Strangers on a Train at Fahrenheit 55 on Wednesday & The Guildford Shakespeare Company on Thursday. Monday - The Legion Live Lounge Sessions |

Head to The Legion on Monday evenings to enjoy Guildford's premier acoustic night, hosted by Josh Wheldon & Si Jones, at one of Guildford's most popular night spots. Featuring fantastic live music from up and coming artists, this is the perfect way to start the week in style and wind down on a Monday night. Tickets are free and booking is not required. Tuesday - GuilFest Update! |
Are you counting down the days to GuilFest? Well we are too! And whilst we are busy keeping ourselves up to date on what's happening at this year's festival, we thought we would share the updates with you too. So what can you expect from this year's GuilFest? Well for a start there are the seven stages of live music. The Man in the Moon Theatre Tent. The 70's Disco. The Acoustic Lounge. The Farmer Giles Barn Dance. The Electronic Arts Gaming Area. Wednesday - Strangers on a Train |
Original live music from exceptional performers. These nights are hosted by solo guitarist Byron Johnston and showcase top signed and unsigned artists from the music scene. SOAT is known as one of the definitive music nights south of London and is popular with touring artists from Europe and North America. Highlighted as part of the Guildford Summer Festival and held every Wednesday at Fahrenheit 55, SOAT is a definite must for live music lovers across Surrey.

Thursday - The Two Gentlemen of Verona |
Book your tickets now! Following their most popular summer yet, the award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company return for their fourth season of Open-Air Theatre in Guildford, presented in association with Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Directed by Joanna Read) will be shown from 9th - 18th July at the University of Surrey Lake. Friday - The Ghost Tour of Guildford |

Saturday - Acoustic Saturdays at The Weyside |
Visit The Weyside on a Saturday evening to enjoy singer/guitarist James Deane playing a mixture of classic songs and his own compositions. Sunday - The Jazz in the Gardens |

On Sunday 5th July, pack a picnic and head to The Walled Garden at Loseley Park to enjoy lively music by Brian Whites Magna Jazz Band! Perfect for a summer evening and all to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Running from 18.30 – 21.30, the gates will open at 17.30. Tickets cost £16 for adults & £8 for children under 10. Tip of The Week
Guildford Town Centre Cycle Races!
Taking place on Wednesday 8th July and organised by Charlotteville Cycling Club, the races are guaranteed to bring fast and hard fought cycle racing on Guildford's notoriously tough cobbled High Street course and are fought out by both local and national road racers.
