What's Going On in Esher and Claygate?

Claremont Landscape Garden

Claremont Garden is a beautiful place owned by The National Trust in Esher. The garden is of national significance and its development over the last 286 years has involved many famous names including Sir John Vanbrugh and 'Capability' Brown. The garden is set surrounding a lovely little lake and includes a grass amphitheatre.

Visitors ambling around this stunning place will find an island and pavilion as well as a small grotto. They also have a new children's play area.

A real treat as a day out.

Esher and Claygate Information

The Good Time Guide is expanding throughout Esher, Claygate & the surrounding areas during 2009. Keep your eyes peeled for updates to this homepage!

At The Good Time Guide we are of the opinion that both Esher locals and tourists should visit Claremont Park to spend some time in the breathtaking gardens which are home to treasures such as the Belvedere Tower, the grass amphitheatre, and Capability Brown’s fabulous landscaped gardens. Trust us it’s a real treat.

There are plenty of other open spaces to head to for some fresh air and a spot of exercise as well. Why not take the pooch (or indeed any domesticated pet, but perhaps not the goldfish) for a wander in the woodlands and commons surrounding Esher and Claygate.

No trip to the area would be complete without taking in Sandown Park, home to the famous racecourse. The park also caters for an abundance of other sporting aficionados with a pitch and putt golf course, a go-karting track and a ski school to name but a few. With this much on offer we think the weekend should be three days long at least.
