What's Going On in Godalming?

The Garden Cider Company

Here's a tale for you all; Ben and Jack Filby grew up with an apple tree in their garden and having grown up, realised that there was more to this tree than just climbing and playing. They could, in fact, make cider, fine cider no less. The tale does not end here. Their tree didn't bear enough fruit so, in what can only be described as a stroke of genius, they started collecting other people's unwanted apples.

Realising that cider orchards are in decline, the guys are attempting to create a cider orchard made up of a patchwork of people's gardens. They make the cider from the spare apples and in return share the cider with those who give. Visit The Garden Cider Company to get involved in this fantastic experiment. The End.

The Godalming Packetboat Company.

Now here's a chance to experience the River Wey and its navigation in whole new, or rather old, way.

The Godalming Packetboat Company offers everyone a chance to travel along the unspoiled waterways of Godalming the traditional way, in a narrowboat pulled by working horse.

Public trips run between Easter and September and we would thoroughly recommend a trip on their boat; The Iona, which is 77 years old this year. Facilities on board include a tea bar and toilet so jump on and enjoy the best way to enjoy The Wey.
