What's Going On in Kingston and Richmond?

The Speedo Open Water Swim - Hampton Court

You know what's awesome for your health? Yeah you guessed it - swimmin'. And then, when you get good at it, you can do this - the Hampton Court Open Water River Swim - and probably raise a good chunk of cash for charity too.

The swim takes place from Hampton Court Palace, with swimmers making their way down to the finish just up stream of the Kingston Bridge and next to the beautiful market town of Kingston Upon Thames - a total distance of 2.25 miles (3,650m).

The event takes place on Sunday 15th July 2012, with the entry deadline being Monday 9th at 9pm. Want to enter? Click here. For other local events in the 2012 Speedo Open Water Swim Series, click here.

Kingston and Richmond Information

Kingston, Twickenham, Richmond, Wimbledon and Surbiton have so many attractions, that we could chew your ears off for hours suggesting all manner of marvellous ways to spend your time. Instead we’re afraid you’ll have to make do with a few special handpicked treats and we’ll leave the rest up to you.

There are museums and galleries galore but why not start with the Wimbledon Windmill Museum, Orleans House Gallery, or the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum? Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common are fabulous places to unwind in the open air. Why not go see a performance at the Puppet Theatre Barge, the Polka Theatre, or the Orange Tree Theatre? Lunching along the Thames is one of our favourites pastimes, and least but by no means the least why not spend a night at the dogs?

While you might struggle to choose what to do we are sure you will not struggle to have a good time.
