Overview

There are pubs that are quiet and old-fashioned, and those that are busy and quirky. The Royal Oak falls into the latter category and TGTG has to be honest – that’s what we prefer. Though it’s a bustling venue, The Royal Oak maintains an element of tradition, not least due to its beautiful location behind Guildford High Street alongside the historic Trinity Churchyard.

The interior boasts just as much character, however. It’s bursting with shabby chic - Vintage Chesterfield leather sofas, juke box, billiards table and darts board. The food is fantastic too, with classic pub fare in abundance. The choice of drinks is commendable, with selection of real and bottled ales and organic ciders – indeed, The Royal Oak’s commitment to real drink is proven with their Bi - annual beer and cider festivals.

Finally, live music is an important string to The Royal Oak’s bow, with Natalie Ross's Right Royal Open Mic every other Thursday and ukulele jams every other Monday. Indeed, The Royal Oak offers something for the more adventurous pub-goer – come in and enjoy the vibe!
